We are seeking a Laboratory Manager to be responsible for coordinating and handling a broad spectrum of laboratory-related tasks to ensure optimal use of research facilities, laboratory safety, knowledge sharing, and collaboration Within the Laboratory for Molecular and Translational Pharmacology. The Laboratory for Molecular and Translation Pharmacology has around 50 employees, spread across 6 independent research groups, but with a strong focus on synergies in interdisciplinary collaborations between the groups, in a vibrant international environment. You will play an instrumental role in facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing across the six research groups, working closely with group leaders, laboratory technicians, postdocs, and students to coordinate activities relating to the laboratory as a whole.
Your tasks will include:
- Onboarding of new group members, including introducing, instructing, and training new laboratory users in Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), safety, and other required practices.
- Ensure efficient organization and use of laboratory space, equipment, and consumables.
- Ensure compliance with safety laws and legal standards.
- Organize and assist in procurement, installation, and maintenance of equipment, and in the planning of laboratory renovations.
- Assist with the procurement of consumables and invoice handling.
- Identify and implement optimal laboratory management solutions including electronic booking systems, electronic lab notebook (ELN), equipment and inventory databases, etc.
- Actively contribute to making the laboratory more sustainable through the Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF).
- Coordinate, build and improve common laboratory tasks and workflows.
The laboratory is headed by Professor Mette Rosenkilde together with the laboratory manager and supported by the five other group leaders: Gertrud M. Hjortø, Henriette E. Autzen, Martin Gustavsson, Signe Mathiasen, and Lærke Smidt Gasbjerg. Researchers at the laboratory share a common focus and interest in G protein-coupled receptors and other transmembrane proteins. Our overall purpose is to transform the basic understanding of the mechanisms involved in receptor activation and cellular signaling to a deeper insight in biology and to accelerate this knowledge toward new prevention and treatment strategies.
The laboratory’s research has resulted in seminal discoveries as to how membrane proteins present themselves at the cell surface, how they function at the molecular, cellular, organ, and whole-body level, how cytokines, hormones, and existing/future therapeutics regulate them, and ultimately how this translates into health and disease throughout life.
You can read more about the laboratory and the individual groups on our website.
